Preserving Heritage. Creating Timeless Homes.
Every historic building tells a story.
Whether it is a traditional trullo, a masseria, a stone farmhouse or a historic village residence, every property reflects the history, craftsmanship and identity of the place it belongs to. Our mission is to preserve this heritage while carefully adapting it to contemporary living, creating homes that will endure for generations.
At Puglia Heritage Homes, heritage restoration is not simply one of our services—it is the foundation of our professional identity, our core specialisation and the reason our practice exists.
For more than twenty years, we have specialised in the restoration, reconstruction and adaptive reuse of historic buildings throughout Dalmatia, Istria, Friuli Venezia Giulia, and today we proudly continue this journey in Puglia.
Working with traditional stone houses, rural estates, historic villas and architecturally significant buildings has shaped our professional path and established our reputation as specialists in the restoration and transformation of Mediterranean heritage architecture.
We believe that successful restoration requires far more than excellent architectural design.
It begins with understanding the history of a building, its construction, traditional materials, craftsmanship and its relationship with the surrounding landscape. Only then can the right balance be achieved between preserving authenticity and introducing contemporary standards of comfort, functionality and energy efficiency.
Every project begins with careful observation and understanding.
Before making any design decision, we thoroughly analyse the existing building, its condition, opportunities and constraints. Our objective is never to change its identity, but to preserve and enhance it through thoughtful architectural interventions.
Our services cover every stage of the restoration process, including:
- Historic property assessment and feasibility studies
- Heritage-sensitive restoration and reconstruction
- Architectural design
- Technical documentation and planning
- Planning permissions and local authority coordination
- Collaboration with structural engineers and specialist consultants
- Interior architecture and design
- Bespoke furniture design
- Selection of natural materials, lighting and finishes
- Interior furnishing and styling
- Energy efficiency improvements
- Construction supervision
- Complete project management
One of our greatest strengths is our ability to manage the entire process through a single point of responsibility—from the initial property assessment and architectural concept to planning approvals, contractor coordination, construction supervision, interior completion and final handover.
For many of our international clients, we become their trusted local representative, managing every aspect of the project on their behalf while ensuring transparency, quality, clear communication and complete peace of mind throughout the entire journey.
Particular attention is dedicated to the final stage of every project—the interiors and their complete furnishing. We believe architecture does not end when construction is completed; it reaches its full expression when a house becomes a home. Through carefully designed interiors, bespoke furniture, natural materials, lighting and thoughtfully selected details, we create complete living environments with a distinctive architectural signature.
Based in Martina Franca, in the heart of Valle d’Itria, we collaborate with a trusted network of local craftsmen, contractors, engineers and specialist consultants who share our commitment to authenticity, exceptional craftsmanship and uncompromising quality.
Because restoring a historic building is not simply about preserving walls.
It is about preserving the identity of a place, respecting its history and creating a home where its story can continue for generations to come.
